Suspension of Shipments to the United States

At Passion-Radio.com, we are committed to supporting the global amateur radio community. For many years, US radio amateurs have trusted us for antennas, SDR receivers and other ham radio equipment shipped directly from our wharehouse in France, Europe.

Unfortunately, due to recent trade and logistics changes, we must suspend all shipments to the United States until further notice.

This decision comes after several major developments that directly impact hamradio shipping to the US:

• A 15% tariff increase on EU imports, raising the cost of amateur radio goods exported from Europe.

• Suspension of postal routes: La Poste, the French national postal operator, stopped accepting parcels bound for the United States as of August 25, 2025 (1).

• New UPS processing fees: From September 8, 2025, an additional fee per shipment will apply to all imports, regardless of origin, to cover customs handling.

• The growing complexity of the US customs import system, creating unpredictable costs and delays for buyers.

Statement from our director

“With constant changes in tariffs, shipping costs, and carrier processes, we cannot guarantee fair or transparent conditions for our US customers anymore,” said David, F1JXQ, Director of Passion Radio. “Our priority is to restore a reliable and cost-effective shipping solution as soon as possible.”

Customs duties for US buyers

Some US customers have expressed surprise at recent costs. To clarify:

• Import duties, tariffs, and brokerage fees are always paid by the buyer upon delivery in the US.

• Carriers such as UPS, FedEx, or DHL charge service fees for customs declarations in addition to the official 15% tariff.

• These extra charges are not controlled by the seller and must be settled locally by the recipient.

Partnerships with US suppliers

While direct sales to the US are on hold, Passion Radio continues to work with five American suppliers. The European Union has not imposed retaliatory tariffs or a reciprocal 15% duty on imports from the US, allowing professional collaboration to continue smoothly.
