Read the 3 reviewsThe Chelegance KC4 antenna is a high-performance resonant HF vertical antenna designed for base stations. It covers the 40, 20, 15 and 10-metre amateur radio bands without requiring an antenna coupler, thanks to its resonant design. Robust and efficient, it can handle up to 1000W PEP and offers automatic band switching without the need for manual intervention.
Supplied with: 1 main support, 10 antenna body sections, 12 radials (wire), 1 matching box, 2 U-shaped mounting brackets, 1 tool bag and fixing hardware.
The Chelegance KC4 vertical antenna is an ideal solution for amateur radio operators seeking DX performance on the standard HF bands (40/20/15/10m) without the bulk of a beam or the complexity of a wire dipole. Designed for fixed-station installation, it stands out for its ability to operate without ground radials (thanks to the supplied elevated wire radials) and its 1 kW power handling capacity. It is an excellent choice for operators with limited space who do not wish to compromise on efficiency.
No, the KC4 is a resonant antenna. Once correctly assembled and tuned according to the manual, it provides a low SWR across all four bands, making a tuner unnecessary in most cases.
No, the KC4 is designed to operate with its own counterweights (wire radials supplied) extending from the base of the antenna. It does not require a network of buried radials.
The manufacturer recommends installing the base of the antenna approximately 1.5 metres above the ground for optimum performance and ease of tuning.
No, this version is specifically designed for the 40, 20, 15 and 10 metre bands. It will not resonate correctly on 80m or the WARC bands (12/17/30m).
For continuous-wave digital modes such as FT8, the maximum recommended power is 100 watts to prevent the components from overheating.
