FAQ

Does the backlight require an external power supply?

Yes, to switch on the dial and use the active PEP function, a 12V to 14V DC power supply is required.

Is it possible to measure the power of a VHF/UHF walkie-talkie?

No, this device is specifically calibrated for HF frequencies (1.6-60 MHz). For VHF/UHF, prefer the TX-402 or TX-502.

What is the PEP mode on this model?

PEP (Peak Envelope Power) mode measures real power at SSB voice peaks, which standard needles can't capture accurately.

Does the device affect output power?

Insertion loss is negligible (less than 0.2 dB), so the device can be left permanently plugged into the transmission line.

Is it suitable for CB (27 MHz)?

Absolutely, it covers the CB band perfectly and enables much more accurate measurements than entry-level models.
