FAQ
How do I fit the fan without voiding the warranty on my President radio?
When removing the lower cover to connect the 2-pin connector, the original warranty label is removed. President specifically provides two official seal labels in this kit to allow you to reseal the casing whilst retaining your right to the manufacturer’s warranty.
Does the fan run continuously or is it temperature-controlled?
This depends on the internal controls of your President unit: on most recent models, the thermal control system automatically activates the fan based on the internal temperature or when the unit switches to transmission mode.
Can more than one fan be fitted to a single unit?
Some President transceivers feature dual mounting points on their rear heat sink. If your unit has multiple connectors or designated mounting points, you can install two ACMD901 fans.
Is the fan noisy when running?
No, its low-power 12V motor (0.8 W) offers an ideal balance between airflow and quiet operation, thus preventing noise disturbance whilst listening or transmitting.
What tools are required for installation?
A simple, suitable Phillips-head screwdriver is all you need to open the cover of your transceiver, connect the 2-pin connector to the circuit board and screw the fan and its grille onto the rear heat sink.
