Designed specifically for off-network LoRa mesh networks (Meshtastic, MeshCore), it offers a robust portable terminal with an aluminium chassis.
Supplied with: 1x assembled aluminium housing with touchscreen, 1x Heltec WiFi LoRa 32 V4-R8 board, 1x expansion board with GNSS and SD card reader, 1x LoRa SMA antenna, 1x belt clip.
The Heltec Automation WiFi LoRa 32 Expansion Kit V2 is a high-end, stand-alone communication device designed for enthusiasts of decentralised networks, amateur radio operators and users of Meshtastic or MeshCore. Equipped with the powerful ESP32-S3 microcontroller, combined with 8 MB of PSRAM and the Semtech SX1262 transceiver, this all-in-one device features a 2.8-inch colour touchscreen, high-precision GPS and a memory card reader for loading offline topographical maps.

As this kit uses the V4-R8 board with a TFT screen, firmware from previous versions (V1) is not compatible. You must flash Meshtastic firmware versions labelled Heltec V4-R8 TFT (e.g. firmware-heltec-v4-r8-tft-xxxx.factory.bin).
In direct touchscreen mode, Bluetooth settings can be configured via the Bluetooth icon on the home screen: a short press activates programming mode for updates, whilst a long press switches to BASE UI companion mode, allowing pairing with the Meshtastic smartphone app.
