Grazioli MV7 aluminium multiband vertical antenna, 7 HF bands + 6 m (40/20/17/15/12/10/6 m).

Designed for a compact, high-performance base station: 1/4λ, patented DBFC counterweight for 40 m, high wind resistance and power up to 3 kW (1.5 kW SSB at 40 m).

The Grazioli MV7 is an evolution of the MV6, from which it takes its robust mechanics, with a major innovation: a double-band central needle (40 + 20 m).

This solution uses a coil with a capacitive cap to decouple the lower part of the 20m and ensure an inductive load suitable for the 40m.

Above the coil, a radiating element of around 2.2 m made up of two adjustable telescopic tubes ensures precise calibration of the entire 40m band while reducing wind resistance.

DBFC system (Dual Band Folded Counterpoise)

Innovative, patented ground plan, specific to the MV7.

An AISI316 stainless steel cable (19 strands, Ø 1 mm) is fixed to the end of a Ø 10 mm aluminium radial.

The difference in diameter creates a high impedance: the cable only lets through the low band (40m).

The other bands (20m and more) operate in the same way as the MV6.

The cable + radial combination forms a counterweight ≈ 1/4 wave over 40 m, folded over 2 radials to limit space requirements and eliminate the need for long wire radials.

Wind resistance

When installing in very windy areas, it is advisable to use non-conductive cables with the harness supplied to secure the antenna.

Choke supplied

The MV7 is supplied with a FAIR-RITE FT240-43 toroid (Made in USA) enabling an effective choke to be built against common mode currents on 1.8-30 MHz.

Additional equipment to be provided by the user:

2 PL-259 connectors (or 1 PL-259 + 1 SO-239 with plastic box),

≈ 1.2 m of quality coaxial cable (RG58 for ≤ 300 W @30 MHz or RG142BU Teflon for ≤ 1500 W @30 MHz).

Caution: FOAM cables proscribed (spongy dielectric degrades on winding).

Grazioli specific UHF connector

Not a standard SO-239, but a real 50 Ω in-house connector, usable up to 500 MHz.

Supports 5 kW CW continuous @30 MHz and >3 kW @50 MHz.

CW614N nickel-plated brass body, 24K gold-plated pin with 4-fin insulator (better centring/contact).

PTFE insulation (-100° to +260°), protected by an elastomer cover against humidity.

Anchoring support

Stainless steel AISI304, thickness 2.5 mm.

Attached to the antenna tube by a clamp collar, providing a very robust mechanical lock.

Mast attachment by AISI304 U-bolts (V-Bolt M6) and column nuts for easy tightening.
