The M0CVO HW-40HP is a dipole antenna that incorporates the M0CVO 4:1 balun at the feed point, allowing direct feeding with 50 ohm coaxial cable.

The M0CVO HW-40HP is just 20.28m long, and can be mounted horizontally, like a sloper. If space is limited, it can also be 'folded' like an inverted V, to fit without loss of performance.

It covers the 40, 20 and 10m bands without the need for a tuner, offering high performance without loss.

It also works on the 60m, 15m, 6m and WARC bands with an external tuner.

The lengths of the 2 strands are 6.76m and 13.52m respectively.

* With an external tuner

** A 4:1 current balun is added to the feed point to change the impedance to the required 50Ω. This then allows the antenna to be fed using a standard 50Ω coaxial cable such as RG8 or RG213.

Best performance is achieved when mounted at least a quarter wave above the ground at the lowest frequency (about 10m).

The antenna can be mounted lower if necessary, but due to the varying nature of the ground below, the overall impedance and performance may be affected.

IMPORTANT: Maximum power is indicated in PEP and is for amateur radio use in intermittent mode (CW or SSB) only.

Not suitable for AM broadcasting or constant carrier data modes (such as FT8 or RTTY) at high power (100W). For these modes, reduce power considerably (50W max recommended) to avoid overheating and damage to the balun. For full-power use in constant-carrier modes, opt for a QRO balun.
