FAQ

How do I put the board into Bootloader mode to flash firmware (e.g. Meshtastic)?

To force Bootloader mode, connect the USB-C cable to your computer, hold down the PRG button, briefly press the RST button, then release the PRG button. You can then flash your firmware via Web Flasher or PlatformIO, and restart the board.

Can an external Wi-Fi/Bluetooth antenna be connected via IPEX?

By default, the board uses the 2.4 GHz FPC antenna integrated into the casing. To route the signal to the 2.4 GHz IPEX connector, a 0-ohm SMD resistor modification (or solder bridge) is provided on the PCB to switch to the external RF port.

What is the difference between the WiFi LoRa 32 V3 and the new V4?

The V4 version features a faster ESP32-S3 processor with 2 MB of PSRAM, a more powerful LoRa RF amplifier (up to +28 dBm), a screen protection frame with an integrated FPC antenna, as well as dedicated connectors for a solar panel and GPS module.

How are solar charging and the battery managed?

The board features a regulated charging circuit. You can connect a lithium battery (3.7V) and a solar panel (4.7 to 6V) simultaneously to their respective SH1.25 connectors for complete autonomy when used outdoors.

Does the board come with a LoRa antenna?

No, the board has an IPEX 1.0 (U.FL) connector for LoRa. It is essential to connect an antenna suitable for the frequency band before transmitting, to avoid damaging the RF amplifier stage.
