Guide to install the LoRa HAT and SD-Card gateway
What is a LoRa gateway?
A LoRa gateway is a piece of hardware in a LoRaWAN network that is configured to receive data packets from LoRa nodes and connect them to a LoRaWAN network such as The Things Network. These are capable of receiving hundreds of nodes at the same time and providing LoRaWAN coverage for both your devices and others within range of it.
What is The Things Network (TTN)?
The Things Network (TTN) is a rapidly growing IoT LoRaWAN network provider around the world. The advantage of using a public TTN network is that the devices you build in one region will work in any region in Europe that is covered.
No coverage available in your area? You can configure your own gateway (such as our IoT LoRa Gateway HAT for Raspberry Pi) for you and others to use and increase coverage at the same time.
The Things Network offers a paid offer for commercial use, as well as a free offer for community networks.
