It can tune dipoles, verticals, Yagis, or virtually any coax-fed antenna. It adapts to a wide range of antennas and impedances.

- Magnetic latching relays are used inside the tuner to save power.
The mAT-705Plus automatic antenna tuner responds to control commands from the IC-705 transceiver, providing microprocessor-based impedance matching on amateur bands from 160 to 6 metres. On the HF and 50 MHz bands, the impedance matching range is from 5Ω to 1500Ω. The tuner is supplied with a control cable.
The mAT-705Plus has 16,000 frequency memories. When tuning to or near a previously tuned frequency, the mAT-705Plus uses the "Memory Tune" function to recall the previous tuning parameters in a fraction of a second.
If no stored parameters are available, the tuner performs a full tuning cycle, storing the parameters for recall into memory on subsequent tuning cycles to that frequency. In this way, the mAT-705Plus 'learns' as it goes, adapting to bands and frequencies as it goes.
The new version of the tuner eliminates the mechanical power switch. Its power supply is automatically controlled by the transmitter. After plugging in the control cable, it switches on and off at the same time as the transmitter, with no need to switch it on and off manually.
