The LNA4HF is a pre-amplifier and a low-pass filter (LNA) with SMA female RF connectors and for RF frequencies covering all bands from 150 kHz to 30 MHz.
Power is to build yourself via a 6V/9V by connecting simply 2 power cables or 5V with a modification on the board.
It is also possible to remove the LNA filter to be able to use the preamp up to 2GHz with another mod of the board.
See also the LNA4ALL version for 28Mhz to 2GHz preamplifier VHF-UHF bands.
Power supply: 6-9V DC or 5V (with modification-it-yourself)
Frequency range: 150kHz - 30MHz
Receive gain: 18 to 20 dB
NF: 1-2 dB
Impedance: 50 ohms
Antenna Connector: SMA Female
Dimension: 25x25 mm
The input and output of the antenna are tuned to 50 ohms, and there is no significant deterioration with cable TV 75 ohms also.
This preamplifier LNA is highly efficient and need to be use with caution, never use near strong signals, nor transmit a radio signal nearby (FM radio station amateur radio, walkie-talkie, pmr446, etc.) under penalty of "grill" your device immediately SDR HackRF One or AirSpy!
How to protect the LNA from ESD?
The static discharge can damage the LNA if it is not protected and used properly.
1 - Never leave the LNA plugged permanently or placed permanently behind an antenna on the mast
2 - Disconnect the antenna and ensure proper grounding of the LNA and antenna, before reconnecting the antenna cable discharging static electricity
3 - It is also possible to add extra protection diode BAV99 welding (scratch first location) to the input of the antenna as shown in green on the following picture:
So if lightning the diode will be damaged but not the rest of the LNA card.
No LNA will be returned or exchanged due to misuse.
The warranty does not cover damage that may result from an assembly error, an incorrect antenna setting (ROS), a maximum input power not respected, a short circuit of the power supply or coaxial line and damage from electrostatic discharge.
